I've kicked off a new year of reading and I'm feeling good about my book choices. I finished six books this month and quit three. Yep, I'm not wasting time on books I don't love. If they don't have me hooked pretty quickly, I'm dropping them. I would rather read fewer, great books than more mediocre ones. Here's what I've been reading lately... The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand I normally read the newest Elin book as soon as it's released, but after learning there was a Continue Reading
January Favorites {2023}
In the past I've participated in a Friday Favorites weekly post, but since I don't blog as often as I used to I decided to do things a little differently this year. A Few Reading Goals for 2023…
This year I've decided to set a lower number for my reading goal, because I want to enjoy the books I'm reading instead of rushing through them just to check them off a list. Read the Books in My TBR Pile Before Buying More Okay, I have Continue Reading

With two hours and 45 minutes to spare, I met my 2022 reading goal! 75 books complete! The last week of December I finished Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt I didn't think I would enjoy a book where one of the main characters is an octopus. It's not a book I would typically choose, but it was such a popular pick in this year. This is a beautiful story about unexpected friendships and healing. I loved Marcellus (the Octopus)! I am so glad I gave this book a Continue Reading
Jennifer Reads {December 2022}
I'm sharing my December reads early because I've decided to take a little reading break from now until the new year. That doesn't mean I won't read, but I'm not going to stress out about finishing a certain number of books before December 31st. Here's the deal - I love to read. I love books - but this year I found myself rushing through a good story just to mark another book off my list. Reading became a chore instead of an escape from the stress of everyday life. I want to read Continue Reading
