What I Read in 2019

December 30, 2019 by Jennifer

Confession... I didn't read as many books as I would have liked to this year. The reason? I was busy homeschooling. I spent way too much time scrolling through social media. Sometimes reading becomes stressful instead of enjoyable because I'm Type A and feel crazy amounts of pressure to mark as many books off my list as possible. Last night I sat and made a reading list for 2020. Between the books waiting for me on my Kindle + the ones sitting in the drawers of my bedside table + the Continue Reading

Festive Reads for Your Holiday Season

December 6, 2019 by Jennifer

One thing I really love is a good Christmasy read during the month of December. There's nothing better than cuddling up by the fireplace with a good book; tree lights twinkling. I thought I'd share a few of the holiday books I've read this season and a few of my favorites from years past! I'll start with one of my all-time favorite book series, which happens to be set on Nantucket during Christmas. The Winter Street Series ( 4 books) is by my favorite author Elin Hilderbrand. I loved Continue Reading

Learning and a Lemonade Stand

July 22, 2019 by Jennifer

Here's what I'm learning as a homeschool mom... Say YES! Jackson had asked me several times earlier this summer if he could have a lemonade stand. I didn't think much of his request until I saw a Facebook friend help her daughter set up a lemonade stand. It got me thinking... Allowing Jackson to have a lemonade stand could be a valuable learning experience. So I said yes! I told him we would have a lemonade stand on Friday and he was pumped! We took a trip to the store and bought Continue Reading

Five Things You’ll Find Me Doing This Summer

July 18, 2019 by Jennifer

This summer has been about rest. It's been about slowing down and making time for me. I did not make my health a priority earlier this year and I felt the toll. Winter was long and my jeans got a tad bit too tight and my mood was anything but sunny. The last few months I have been taking time to care for myself and it feels good. I must remember to continue this trend when summer ends and winter finds its way to Oklahoma again. Self-care is important for all moms, but especially moms of Continue Reading

The Cheese Pizza Crisis

July 9, 2019 by Jennifer

We spent 4th of July in Texas at my parent's house. My hometown is small and there aren't a lot of choices when it comes to grabbing a bite to eat. Throw in a kid with a very limited diet and it makes choosing where to have dinner even more difficult. My dad is not a big fan of Chili's, but he knows it's one of Jackson's favorite places. Does Jackson get baby back ribs or some other Chili's speciality? No. He gets the cheese pizza off the kid's menu and a Dr Pepper. Every. Single. Time. To Continue Reading
