October Writing Challenge #3 – PEACE

October 3, 2021 by Jennifer

My word for 2021 is Pursue. This year I have pursued a deeper relationship with God, a more consistent (and bolder) prayer life, truth through His word, good physical and mental health and simplicity in our homeschool. As I've pursued Jesus, I've experienced peace. A peace that doesn't get shaken by the things of this world, and let's be honest, there's a lot going on in the world. Pandemic. Politics. So. Many. Opinions. So. Much. Noise. As I get older (and maybe a Continue Reading

October Writing Challenge #2 – CONTENT

October 2, 2021 by Jennifer

Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year. I think the reason is because I feel so content. A good book, a fall candle burning and the crisp autumn air. When October rolls around peace fills my heart. Fall brings slower days, changing leaves, crockpot meals and family nature walks. I love capturing the changing season with my camera. October Writing Challenge #1 – NEED

October 1, 2021 by Jennifer

I have a list hanging on my bathroom mirror - four things that help my mental health tremendously. I need to move my body... I need to fill my head with Truth... I need to talk to Jesus... I need to read good books... Lately I've been thinking I need to start writing again. There are so many reasons why I stopped – fear and the demanding seasons of motherhood and homeschooling. But I also stopped because I needed to find freedom from the pressure to perform. Writing and Continue Reading

September 30, 2021 by Jennifer

I did something crazy this month - something I've never done before...I read an ENTIRE book on my PHONE!!!! I know, I know, people apparently do it all the time, but I never had. I have a friend who reads on her phone all the time and the thought of it just didn't sound appealing until I found myself in Texas without my Kindle or a book (GASP!!!). I had no choice but to start a book on my phone and it actually wasn't so bad. This month I also enjoyed reading at my happy place - the beach. Continue Reading

Jennifer Reads {August 2021}

August 30, 2021 by Jennifer

August was a weird reading month. I went almost two weeks without picking up a book. I didn't finish a single book on a our road trip to Michigan (and I had 26 hours I could have read). I think I just had a lot on my mind this month, which made it difficult to concentrate on reading. I also binge watched Chesapeake Shores, so there's that. I guess I just needed some mindless tv watching in my life. I did update my 2021 reading list and organize all the beautiful books on my Continue Reading
