Friday Favorites {January 8, 2021}

January 8, 2021 by Jennifer

It's the first Friday of the New Year! I thought I would share a few things I'm currently loving. This Bible Study My word for 2021 is Pursue. I am pursuing a deeper relationship with Jesus and more simplicity in all areas of my life. When I saw this study, I knew it would be perfect to kick off my quiet time for the new year. I am on day two and God is already meeting me on the pages. Pursuing true simplicity is about pursuing Jesus.  This Quote I hung these words by Ann Continue Reading

Reflecting on 2019…

December 31, 2019 by Jennifer

I stumbled across a blog post the other day that offered 10 questions to help you reflect on 2019! I love stuff like this! As I prepare for a new decade, I want to pause and remember this year. It's been a year of growth. It's been hard at times, but overall, so, so good. What makes this year unforgettable? So many things: our annual trip to the beach, taking Jackson to Disney World, the amazing progress Jackson has made in so many areas, realizing what a privilege it is to homeschool Continue Reading

One Year Into Homeschooling {What I’ve Learned}

March 7, 2019 by Jennifer

One year ago today I signed a simple slip of paper and handed it to my son's elementary school principal. As I reflect on the last year, I can honestly say it's been pretty good. My kid is happy and thriving. He is learning at his own pace and in his own unique ways. His anxiety is under control. The meltdowns are gone. We Continue Reading

I Want To Be A Brave Learner {Five Takeaways from the Book!}

March 6, 2019 by Jennifer

I spent all of February diving into Julie Bogart's new book Brave Learner.  I usually don't spend an entire month reading one book, but I wanted to let all the homeschool goodness soak in. We're about to celebrate one year of homeschooling and the truth is I'm still trying to figure out what works best for us. I am still scared I'm going to mess up Jackson's education. This book renewed my hope. It sparked a fire deep within me to create a learning environment where Jackson Continue Reading

The Power Of A Pen Pal

March 4, 2019 by Jennifer

When I was five-years-old I met a little girl in Durango, Colorado while on family vacation. Her family was camped next to mine and we spent an entire day playing in the fresh mountain air. We traded addresses over a snack of potato sticks and spent the next decade writing letters to one another. We were Pen Pals. A while back, I "met" a fellow Apraxia mama on social media. She and I connected over our boys and their shared diagnosis. We also bonded over photography and our love of the Continue Reading
