Friday Favorites {May 7, 2021}

May 7, 2021 by Jennifer

It’s been a while since I’ve written a Friday Favorites post! This week was filled with some fun things and special moments, so I thought I’d share!

My Meme’s Iris

My mom, sister and I all have iris plants that were once in my great-grandmothers yard. They bloomed this week and they make me so happy! Purple is my favorite color, so that makes them even more special. I just love that I get to look forward to these each Spring. The ice storm and recent hail didn’t keep them from blooming in all their glory!

This Cute Beach Bag

I saw this on Amazon and my beach-loving heart immediately added it to my cart. I have a feeling I will use it a lot this summer between swimming lessons, trips to the pool and our beach vacation.

This T-Shirt

I love books. I love to read. I loved this shirt!

John said I probably bought it to wear around him and Jackson. Ha!

Bike Rides

I love riding my bike around our neighborhood this time of the year! This week I rode around our lakes and just soaked up the sunshine! It was fabulous!

Porch Surprises

My friend Emily sent me a text on Tuesday saying to check my front porch! She had left me a Mother’s Day gift! A candle to make me think I’m at the beach and a gift card to the bookstore. She knows me so well! It was such a fun surprise for an ordinary Tuesday.

My Mother In Law’s Guacamole

Why have I not been putting Rotel in my guacamole until now? It is life changing! We spent a few days at the lake with John’s family. I ate my weight in guacamole. We came home and I immediately made another batch. I have a feeling we will be eating a lot of it this summer.

Learning New Things Alongside My Son

We spent the week learning about bees and I’m certain I learned just as much as Jackson did.

It just amazes me that God created bees – tiny little insects, with brains the size of a sesame seed – to be such a vital part of our world. Also, honey is pretty much bee barf!
Jackson and I took a field trip to a local park where we saw bees busy pollinating. We could see the yellow pollen stuck to their hairy bodies. It was incredible! I absolutely love sharing these moments with my kid!
