What God Says About Glory {Day 22: 31 Days}

October 22, 2014 by Jennifer

The other day I came across a pin on Pinterest for a super creative quiet time idea. It involved a journal, a Bible, and markers in colors galore.

Pens, journals, office supplies in general – now that’s glory in the eyes of this girl.

I had already planned to write a post about what God says about glory, but had yet to really dig into His word.

So I got out my markers, found a new journal, and opened my Bible.

And had a creative and colorful time with God.

The Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary defines glory like this: the weighty importance and shining majesty that accompany God’s presence.

And God’s presence is everywhere – in the clouds that give me a glimpse of heaven, in the joyous laughter of my toddler, and in the quiet moments studying His word.

I looked up the word glory in the back of my Bible. I researched the word from Genesis to Revelation.

Here are a few things I found and loved:

He is awesome in glory. (Exodus 15:11)

He is crowned with glory. (Psalms 8:5)

The heavens declare the glory of God. (Psalms 19:1)

We are to declare His glory among the nations. (1 Chronicles 16:24; Psalms 96:3)

When Jesus returns, it will be with great glory! (Matthew 24:30)

An angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them… (Luke 2:9)

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only, who came from the Father full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

Jesus is GRACE & TRUTH

JESUS is the radiance of GOD’S GLORY (Hebrews 1:3)

Oh, that I may never forget that….

We bring Jesus glory on earth when we complete the work he has given us to do. (John 17:4)

Do everything for the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31)

We reflect His glory. (2 Corinthians 3:18)

But out of all those verses, this is the truth I wanted my heart to capture the most…

Today, I pray it takes root in your heart, too.

Kristin – I really had fun doing this! Want to do it more often. Maybe I will incorporate some post-it notes next time 😉

Oh, I just love this. Love everything about it. Love that colorful journal. You may have just inspired this gal who lack creativity. Love you, friend. xoxo

This inspires me to pull out the markers and “color” while my are coloring next time 🙂 I might actually get back into journaling if it’s this fun and colorful!
